A total of 145 service members and civilians participated in the “Main Event List/Main Incident List (MEL/MIL) Conference and STARTEX Validation Workshop” from 27 August to 4 September at the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in preparation for STEADFAST JAZZ 13 (SFJZ 13), which is scheduled for this November.

A command post exercise connected to a partial LIVEX, the SFJZ 13 is the vehicle for the NRF 2014 certification.

The aim of the Workshop in Stavanger was to finalize the incident development, review areas of common interest and to script all associated injections in accordance with the exercise scenario as well as to set and finalize the simulation database.

Also for each injection, Expected Outcomes were created to comply with the desired training objectives and meet the Training Audience’s Level of Ambition. The briefings included scenario updates with specific focus on the Opposing Force (OPFOR) structure as well as updates from JFC Brunssum and its Component Commands for the NRF 2014.

“We have reached an agreement on the STARTEX situation and developed our Activity Matrix for SFJZ 13 during this Workshop. More than 700 injections were scripted,” said Spanish Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Cano, JWC's SFJZ 13 MEL/MIL Manager.
