
STAVANGER, Norway – Brigadier General Petr Svoboda, the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff at the Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC), visited the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on March 2 to meet with Major General Piotr Malinowski, Commander JWC, and to learn more about the Centre's organization and current activities.
Brigadier General Svoboda, who assumed his duties at the JFTC in August 2022, was accompanied by Colonel Joseph Garaux, the JFTC’s Division Head for Training and Exercises. The delegation received detailed briefs on the JWC’s mission, and attended the Commander’s Update Brief, during which senior staff from different JWC components spoke about their current and upcoming activities.
During the orientation visit, Brigadier General Svoboda also had the opportunity to observe the Operational Exercise Design Workshop for STEADFAST JUPITER 2023 (STJU23), which is currently taking place at the JWC under the lead of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFC Brunssum).
The visit to the JWC highlighted the cooperation between the two organizations related to collective training and exercises to strengthen NATO readiness, as the Alliance continues to adapt with initiatives such as NATO 2030 to make the Alliance even stronger.
