STAVANGER, Norway – British Army Lieutenant General Tim Radford CB DSO OBE, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR)-designate, paid a visit to NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on September 24, 2019.

He was welcomed by German Navy Rear Admiral Jan C. Kaack, Commander JWC. Radford had an office call with Kaack and was briefed on the JWC and its Programme of Work by the Centre’s Director of Management. He was then provided in-depth briefings on the upcoming JWC-directed NATO Exercises, TRIDENT JUPITER 2019 and STEADFAST JUPITER-JACKAL 2020, respectively.

While at the JWC, Radford gained an understanding of the Centre’s role as NATO’s footprint in Norway. Discussions focused on the Joint Warfare Centre’s responsibilities in leading and delivering operational level exercises for NATO Command and Force Structure headquarters to improve their readiness and interoperability, as well as the Centre’s key support to NATO’s Transformation and delivery of Warfare Development through doctrine, concept development, experimentation and lessons learned.

Radford served as Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) in Gloucester, United Kingdom, from July 2016 to July 2019. He is selected to promote to the rank of General and will become DSACEUR, one of the most senior military positions in NATO, in April 2020.
