JWC bids farewell to Brigadier General Roger Watkins
German Army Major General Reinhard Wolski, Commander of NATO's Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, addressed the staff for the final time on Friday, 8 July during an All Hands Call held at the JWC auditorium.
"Today it is the last time I stand in front of you and to all of you I simply say, thank you," Major General Wolski said, adding: "Let me say that being Commander of the Joint Warfare Centre was the best assignment of my military career and it was because of our small but very strong 'One Team' that is singularly focused on NATO's success. From across all Divisions and Branches, with exercise planners, real life support and host nation support teams to military and civilian staff as well as the contractors, including my front office and the senior executives, I have always felt very much supported. You all help this Centre to succeed and you all inspire me. JWC has a great reputation in NATO because of you," Major General Wolski said.

Today's special All Hands Call also offered an opportunity to bid farewell to the U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Roger Watkins, the Centre's outgoing Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff since 3 July 2014, and his family.
Major General Wolski praised Brigadier General Watkins during his remarks for his professionalism, forward-looking leadership and dedicated service to the JWC. In an article penned exclusively for The Three Swords Magazine, Brigadier General Watkins wrote: "I firmly believe that JWC's 'One Team' culture has as much to do with our success as any other single factor. I see an incredibly resilient and focused team here at JWC that makes the Commander and all of NATO extremely proud."
At the conclusion of the event, Brigadier General Watkins and his wife Leslie shook hands with each staff member saying thanks and goodbye.
