Ambassador Duhamel was welcomed to the Centre by Rear Admiral Jan C. Kaack, Commander JWC.

The visit started with an office call with Rear Admiral Kaack, followed by a mission brief from Colonel Jean-Michel Millet, JWC’s Head of Transformation Delivery Division and the French Senior National Representative, who explained the key role, organization and the capabilities of the Centre as NATO's footprint in the North.

The official programme at the JWC included a luncheon hosted by Rear Admiral Kaack, a guided tour of the JWC’s state-of-the-art training facility, and a meeting with the French military and civilian personnel assigned to the JWC and the French National Support Element. The visit also provided an opportunity for the Ambassador to observe the preparation and planning activities for NATO Exercise TRIDENT JUPITER 2019-2.

H.E. Pierre-Mathieu Duhamel assumed the duties of French Ambassador to Norway in April 2019.

The Joint Warfare Centre is the premier training establishment of the NATO Alliance at the operational level. The Centre provides NATO’s training focal point for full spectrum joint operational level warfare.
