Ms Julie Furuta-Toy, Chargé d'Affaires and the Acting Ambassador for the United States Embassy in Norway visited the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Wednesday, 27 August.
Chargé d'Affaires Furuta-Toy was accompanied by Mr William Taliaferro, Deputy Counsellor for Political and Economic Affairs, as well as Mr. Simon Johansson and Ms Marianne Ruud, economics and defence specialists, respectively.
On arrival, the delegation was greeted by the U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Roger H. Watkins, JWC Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, and Norwegian Air Force Brigadier General Jon Ragnar Krogstad, Special Advisor to the Commander. Following an office call with Brigadier General Watkins, the delegation was escorted to the Leiv Eiriksson room where the Brigadier General gave a briefing on the mission, structure and activities of the Centre. The programme then continued with a visit to JWC's live broadcast studio and a guided tour of the Centre's state-of-the-art training facility.
Chargé d'Affaires Furuta-Toy who arrived in Oslo in August 2012 is currently the highest-ranking U.S. official in Norway.
