JWC will conduct Exercise Steadfast Juncture 08 from 19-29 May 2008 at Ulsnes Training Facility. Exercise Steadfast Juncture 08 is an Allied Command Operations (ACO) sponsored NRF exercise designed to train, evaluate and certify NATO's JC Lisbon for the 11th rotation of the NATO Response Force (NRF).

The exercise aims to practice critical tasks in an Allied expeditionary operation, in order to assess the adequency of planning and force generation for the conduct of NRF operations.

The Steadfast Series of exercises will continuously develop the expeditionary capabilities required for future NATO missions including sustainment and necessary logistics. As the Officer Conducting the Exercise (OCE), Director JWC is responsible for the detailed planning and the overall execution of NATO's Steadfast Series of exercises.

The missions of NRF mirrors primarily the requirements of rapid response in the initial phase of a crisis situation deployed as a stand-alone force for Crisis Response, such as Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations; support Consequence Management; Crisis Response Operations and support Counter-Terrorism Operations.
